Job 31:1 わたしは、わたしの目と契約を結んだ、どうして、おとめを慕うことができようか。

I made [03772] a covenant [01285] with mine eyes [05869]; why then should I think [0995] upon a maid [01330]?
Job 31:2 もしそうすれば上から神の下される分はどんなであろうか。高き所から全能者の与えられる嗣業はどんなであろうか。

For what portion [02506] of God [0433] is there from above [04605]? and what inheritance [05159] of the Almighty [07706] from on high [04791]?
Job 31:3 不義なる者には災が下らないであろうか。悪をなす者には災難が臨まないであろうか。

Is not destruction [0343] to the wicked [05767]? and a strange [05235] punishment to the workers [06466] of iniquity [0205]?
Job 31:4 彼はわたしの道をみそなわし、わたしの歩みをことごとく数えられぬであろうか。

Doth not he see [07200] my ways [01870], and count [05608] all my steps [06806]?
Job 31:5 もし、わたしがうそと共に歩み、わたしの足が偽りにむかって急いだことがあるなら、

If I have walked [01980] with vanity [07723], or if my foot [07272] hath hasted [02363] to deceit [04820];
Job 31:6 （正しいはかりをもってわたしを量れ、そうすれば神はわたしの潔白を知られるであろう。）

Let me be weighed [08254] in an even [06664] balance [03976], that God [0433] may know [03045] mine integrity [08538].Let…: Heb. Let him weigh me in balances of justice
Job 31:7 もしわたしの歩みが、道をはなれ、わたしの心がわたしの目にしたがって歩み、わたしの手に汚れがついていたなら、

If my step [0838] hath turned out [05186] of the way [01870], and mine heart [03820] walked [01980] after [0310] mine eyes [05869], and if any blot [03971] hath cleaved [01692] to mine hands [03709];
Job 31:8 わたしのまいたのを他の人が食べ、わたしのために成長するものが、抜き取られてもかまわない。

Then let me sow [02232], and let another [0312] eat [0398]; yea, let my offspring [06631] be rooted out [08327].
Job 31:9 もし、わたしの心が、女に迷ったことがあるか、またわたしが隣り人の門で待ち伏せしたことがあるなら、

If mine heart [03820] have been deceived [06601] by a woman [0802], or if I have laid wait [0693] at my neighbour's [07453] door [06607];
Job 31:10 わたしの妻が他の人のためにうすをひき、他の人が彼女の上に寝てもかまわない。

Then let my wife [0802] grind [02912] unto another [0312], and let others [0312] bow down [03766] upon her.
Job 31:11 これは重い罪であって、さばきびとに罰せられるべき悪事だからである。

For this is an heinous crime [02154]; yea, it is an iniquity [05771] to be punished by the judges [06414].
Job 31:12 これは滅びに至るまでも焼きつくす火であって、わたしのすべての産業を根こそぎ焼くであろう。

For it is a fire [0784] that consumeth [0398] to destruction [011], and would root out [08327] all mine increase [08393].
Job 31:13 わたしのしもべ、また、はしためがわたしと言い争ったときに、わたしがもしその言い分を退けたことがあるなら、

If I did despise [03988] the cause [04941] of my manservant [05650] or of my maidservant [0519], when they contended [07379] with me;
Job 31:14 神が立ち上がられるとき、わたしはどうしようか、神が尋ねられるとき、なんとお答えしようか。

What then shall I do [06213] when God [0410] riseth up [06965]? and when he visiteth [06485], what shall I answer [07725] him?
Job 31:15 わたしを胎内に造られた者は、彼をも造られたのではないか。われわれを腹の内に形造られた者は、ただひとりではないか。

Did not he that made [06213] me in the womb [0990] make [06213] him? and did not one [0259] fashion [03559] us in the womb [07358]?did not one…: or, did he not fashion us in one womb?
Job 31:16 わたしがもし貧しい者の願いを退け、やもめの目を衰えさせ、

If I have withheld [04513] the poor [01800] from their desire [02656], or have caused the eyes [05869] of the widow [0490] to fail [03615];
Job 31:17 あるいはわたしひとりで食物を食べて、みなしごに食べさせなかったことがあるなら、

Or have eaten [0398] my morsel [06595] myself alone, and the fatherless [03490] hath not eaten [0398] thereof;
Job 31:18 （わたしは彼の幼い時から父のように彼を育て、またその母の胎を出たときから彼を導いた。）

(For from my youth [05271] he was brought up [01431] with me, as with a father [01], and I have guided [05148] her from my mother's [0517] womb [0990];)her: that is, the widow
Job 31:19 もし着物がないために死のうとする者や、身をおおう物のない貧しい人をわたしが見た時に、

If I have seen [07200] any perish [06] for want of clothing [03830], or any poor [034] without covering [03682];
Job 31:20 その腰がわたしを祝福せず、また彼がわたしの羊の毛で暖まらなかったことがあるなら、

If his loins [02504] have not blessed [01288] me, and if he were not warmed [02552] with the fleece [01488] of my sheep [03532];
Job 31:21 もしわたしを助ける者が門におるのを見て、みなしごにむかってわたしの手を振り上げたことがあるなら、

If I have lifted up [05130] my hand [03027] against the fatherless [03490], when I saw [07200] my help [05833] in the gate [08179]:
Job 31:22 わたしの肩骨が、肩から落ち、わたしの腕が、つけ根から折れてもかまわない。

Then let mine arm [03802] fall [05307] from my shoulder blade [07929], and mine arm [0248] be broken [07665] from the bone [07070].bone: or, chanelbone
Job 31:23 わたしは神から出る災を恐れる、その威光の前には何事もなすことはできない。

For destruction [0343] from God [0410] was a terror [06343] to me, and by reason of his highness [07613] I could [03201] not endure.
Job 31:24 わたしがもし金をわが望みとし、精金をわが頼みと言ったことがあるなら、

If I have made [07760] gold [02091] my hope [03689], or have said [0559] to the fine gold [03800], Thou art my confidence [04009];
Job 31:25 わたしがもしわが富の大いなる事と、わたしの手に多くの物を獲た事とを喜んだことがあるなら、

If I rejoiced [08055] because my wealth [02428] was great [07227], and because mine hand [03027] had gotten [04672] much [03524];gotten…: Heb. found much
Job 31:26 わたしがもし日の輝くのを見、または月の照りわたって動くのを見た時、

Job 31:28 これもまたさばきびとに罰せらるべき悪事だ。わたしは上なる神を欺いたからである。

This also were an iniquity [05771] to be punished by the judge [06416]: for I should have denied [03584] the God [0410] that is above [04605].
Job 31:29 わたしがもしわたしを憎む者の滅びるのを喜び、または災が彼に臨んだとき、勝ち誇ったことがあるなら、

If I rejoiced [08055] at the destruction [06365] of him that hated [08130] me, or lifted up [05782] myself when evil [07451] found [04672] him:
Job 31:30 （わたしはわが口に罪を犯させず、のろいをもって彼の命を求めたことはなかった。）

Neither have I suffered [05414] my mouth [02441] to sin [02398] by wishing [07592] a curse [0423] to his soul [05315].mouth: Heb. palate
Job 31:31 もし、わたしの天幕の人々で、『だれか彼の肉に飽きなかった者があるか』と、言わなかったことがあるなら、

Job 31:34 わたしが大衆を恐れ、宗族の侮りにおじて、口を閉じ、門を出なかったことがあるなら、

Did I fear [06206] a great [07227] multitude [01995], or did the contempt [0937] of families [04940] terrify [02865] me, that I kept silence [01826], and went not out [03318] of the door [06607]?
Job 31:35 ああ、わたしに聞いてくれる者があればよいのだが、（わたしのかきはんがここにある。どうか、全能者がわたしに答えられるように。）ああ、わたしの敵の書いた告訴状があればよいのだが。

Job 31:36 わたしは必ずこれを肩に負い、冠のようにこれをわが身に結び、

Surely I would take [05375] it upon my shoulder [07926], and bind [06029] it as a crown [05850] to me.
Job 31:37 わが歩みの数を彼に述べ、君たる者のようにして、彼に近づくであろう。

I would declare [05046] unto him the number [04557] of my steps [06806]; as a prince [05057] would I go near [07126] unto him.
Job 31:38 もしわが田畑がわたしに向かって呼ばわり、そのうねみぞが共に泣き叫んだことがあるなら、

If my land [0127] cry [02199] against me, or that the furrows [08525] likewise [03162] thereof complain [01058];complain: Heb. weep
Job 31:39 もしわたしが金を払わないでその産物を食べ、その持ち主を死なせたことがあるなら、

If I have eaten [0398] the fruits [03581] thereof without money [03701], or have caused the owners [01167] thereof to lose [05301] their life [05315]:fruits: Heb. strengththe owners…: Heb. the soul of the owners thereof to expire, or, breathe out
Job 31:40 小麦の代りに、いばらがはえ、大麦の代りに雑草がはえてもかまわない」。ヨブの言葉は終った。

Job 31:8 わたしのまいたのを他の人が食べ、わたしのために成長するものが、抜き取られてもかまわない。

Job 31:9 もし、わたしの心が、女に迷ったことがあるか、またわたしが隣り人の門で待ち伏せしたことがあるなら、

Job 31:10 わたしの妻が他の人のためにうすをひき、他の人が彼女の上に寝てもかまわない。

Job 31:11 これは重い罪であって、さばきびとに罰せられるべき悪事だからである。
